On June 22, 2011, I was in Las Vegas and released
Death du Jour during the Fremont Street Experience. On July 24, 2011, my inbox received an email alerting me to the fact that the book was caught! In fact, two journal entries were made on that same day. The first:
i am about half-way through the book, and like it so far
The second:
the book is now in Anaconda Montana

Looks like you're the only one who ever drops books in my area. Aren't you scared about leaving books outside? What if someone doesn't take it and it just gets destroyed in the rain!
Yeah, there doesn't seem to be much bookcrossing activity in this area. Have you done much releasing? It's fairly easy to leave books I haven't read, which is the case for most of the ones I release. But I'll also only leave them outside if it's supposed to be sunny for a few days.
I just came across the site yesterday, so I haven't had a chance to do any releasing yet. It all seems like a really cool idea, though.
It's a great concept. Having someone journal a book you released is thrilling. Several books I've released in the lower mainland have been to other continents. If you have any questions (or need encouragement with potential first releases!) let me know.
